30-year-old footage of Cody Rhodes with Shockmaster goes viral

WWE superstar Cody Rhodes is without a doubt one of the most influential faces in the world of professional wrestling now. He is currently known as the most popular babyface of the Stamford-based promotion.

Before his wrestling debut, there were several occasions when he appeared on WWE Television as his father Dusty Rhodes was a wrestler in WWE. However, there is a certain WCW segment from Cody’s childhood where he appeared with The Shockmaster. The clip of that segment resurfaces on the internet after 30 years.

30-year-old Cody Rhodes footage resurfaces

WWE superstar Cody Rhodes was destined to be a pro wrestler as he hails from a wrestling family. His father Dusty Rhodes aka The American Dream was a professional wrestler. His father was not the only person in his family who wrestled, his uncle(he married Cody’s aunt) Fred Ottman aka The Shockmaster also was a wrestler in WCW.

In a segment of 1993 WCW, Fred was seen sitting in his house watching a cartoon show with some kids and an interviewer came to interview him. Among the kids present in the segment Cody Rhodes was one of them. During that segment, Shockmaster said that the kids were happy to spend time with him and they also bought comics to read with him. In the whole segment, Cody was beside Fred, shaking Fred’s right hand.

The segment reached its comedic peak when a young girl handed a balloon filled with flour to The Shockmaster and requested that he inflate it. As the balloon grew larger, the girl asked Fred to stop, but he ignored her, leading to the balloon bursting and covering both Fred and the interviewer in flour.

Rhodes, Jey Uso to take on Damian Priest, Finn Balor at WWE Fastlane

On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, the tag team match of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso against Finn Balor and Damian Priest for the upcoming WWE Fastlane was announced.

During a segment, Rhea Ripley aka The Eradicator returned and got into a brawl with Nia Jax and Raquel. Due to the brawl security was sent to take control of the situation. Other female superstars had to level the ring but only Mami was able to stay as she knocked down a security guard. After that incident, she called out her fellow Judgment Day members into the ring and Both Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest appeared. She went to lecture them as they didn’t perform well during her absence and she was also angry over the fact that Dirty Dom lost his NXT North American title to Trick Williams.

While Rhea held the microphone, Jey Uso entered the ring and engaged in flirtatious banter with her, which infuriated The Archer of Infamy, Damian. Damian appeared to confront Jey, but Dominik Mysterio intervened, offering to handle Jey himself. However, Dirty Dom’s attempt to attack Jey Uso resulted in him getting superkicked. Seizing the opportunity, JD McDonagh also joined in the attack on Jey.

Just when things seemed dire for Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes came to his rescue, and The American Nightmare successfully fended off all the members of Judgement Day involved in the scenario. After the whole fiasco, Adam Pearce announced the match is official for the upcoming Fastlane.
