Enzo Ferrari is the progenitor of Ferrari Automobili and the Scuderia Ferrari team as it is known. The ‘Great Old Man’, as he is rightly called, is the one who brought about an Italian revolution in both, the Automobile Industry and the motorsport scene that is relevant and competitive to this day. Rome wasn’t built in a day, nor was Scuderia Ferrari. It was a hard fought battle against Alfa Romeo, which had dismissed their star Enzo Ferrari and dissolved his team Scuderia Ferrari into Alfa Corse during the distraught year of 1939. Enzo was even banned from using the Ferrari name for 4 years in the world of racing. However, greatness cannot be chained for long and similarly Enzo found a chance to get the much needed breakthrough.

The establishment of Formula 1 in 1950 meant that, Ferrari was there from day one to finally fight back against the dominance of Alfa Romeo. They brought home the world titles in 1952 and 1953, taking what was about to become a humongous leap in fame for Ferrari. It was as if domino effect had kicked off and Ferrari was just claiming excellence in every field his cars participated in.

Enzo Ferrari’s brainchild brought home the titles in 6 of the first 7 World Sportscar Championships and even won Le Mans for 6 years in a row from 1960 to 1965. These were the beginnings of the legend, of the man known as- Enzo Ferrari.
