50 Cent once “scared the s***” thinking he’d face off against Mike Tyson due to Floyd Mayweather

During a tumultuous encounter between the legendary boxers Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson, the rapper 50 Cent found himself entangled in their dispute. Amidst the tension, Mike also publicly criticized Floyd.

Tyson’s remark stemmed from Mayweather’s disrespectful comments about the all-time great boxing icon, Muhammad Ali. The derogatory remarks made by ‘Money’ about Ali led ‘Iron’ to label Floyd as a scared man, further intensifying the animosity between the two boxing greats from different eras.

When 50 Cent thought he’d fight Mike Tyson in LA

Back in 2003, 50 Cent made a significant purchase by spending millions of dollars to buy a house that was previously owned by the legendary boxer Mike Tyson. In an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the rapper candidly shared this information.

During the conversation, 50 Cent recounted a nerve-wracking incident when he thought he was about to get into a physical altercation with Mike Tyson. According to the American singer, Mike mistakenly believed that the house now owned by 50 Cent still belonged to Floyd.

This misconception led Tyson to show up at 50 Cent’s doorstep, who was visibly upset and started venting about Mayweather. The New Yorker admitted feeling terrified during that encounter, fearing that he might end up in a fight with the fierce former heavyweight champion.

“I used to hate that n***a. I broke my TV every time that n***a fought. The n** is just that good, he’s good. I’m glad you with that n**, help him. He gon keep going, he gon keep spending money, he’s me 50,” said 50 Cents regarding what Mike said.

Fortunately, the situation was defused, and 50 Cent did not have to engage in any physical altercation with Mike Tyson that night, allowing the rapper to avoid a potentially dangerous confrontation with the boxing legend.

Mike Tyson hates Floyd Mayweather, labels him ‘scared little man’

Mayweather, an unquestionably formidable fighter of the past two decades, found himself in a situation where he showed a lack of respect toward the iconic boxing figure, Muhammad Ali. Mike Tyson took offense to Mayweather’s derogatory remark about the great Ali and didn’t hold back in his response.

“Is Ali the same fighter that got beat by a fighter with seven fights? Leon Spinks beat Muhammad Ali when he only had seven fights. We’re just telling the truth. Next.” Mayweather said.

‘Iron Mike’ fired back at Floyd, stating that if Mayweather even came close to the realm of greatness that Muhammad Ali achieved, he wouldn’t be able to lead a normal life, such as taking his kids to school.

“Greatness is not guarding itself from the people, greatness is being accepted by the people. He can’t take his kids alone to school by himself. He’s a little, scared man.” Mike said.

Tyson emphasized that Mayweather’s legacy wouldn’t have been as significant as it is now if he had fought in the same era as Ali, insinuating that Mayweather’s achievements might not have matched up to Ali’s legendary status in boxing history.
