7 years after becoming UFC’s first simultaneous double champ, Conor McGregor reminds fans of the company that was sold for $4.2bn being “cheap motherf*****s”

Five years ago, at Madison Square Garden, Conor McGregor etched his name in UFC history by becoming the first to simultaneously hold titles in two weight classes. This iconic moment with his two belts sparked McGregor’s explosive ascent to the pinnacle of superstardom.

The Notorious signed with the UFC in 2013 after becoming a simultaneous two-division champion at Cage Warriors. McGregor claimed the featherweight title with a 13-second knockout of 145-pound champion Jose Aldo at UFC 194. He became the double champion by claiming the lightweight title from Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.

Conor McGregor’s epics rant at UFC 205

Conor McGregor dominated the featherweight division of the UFC where he is 7-0 with 6 finishes and 6 post-fight bonuses. In that run, he beat Dustin Poirier, Max Holloway, Chad Mendes, and Jose Aldo. After the Aldo win, McGregor eyed the lightweight title from Rafael Dos Anjos but RDA would withdraw due to injury.

Following Dos Anjos’ withdrawal, McGregor met Nate Diaz in a pair of welterweight bouts where he lost the first fight via submission and won the rematch via majority decision. The fights headlined UFC 196 and UFC 202 PPVs. Followed by the Diaz fights, McGregor headlined the first PPV in Madison Square Garden after the sport became legalized in New York.

McGregor would triumph in two rounds over Alvarez, earning him the lightweight title and a record as UFC’s first two-division simultaneous champion. However, his post-fight interview was unexpected. Given only one belt, McGregor demanded his second belt and even challenged UFC President Dana White.

Despite Joe Rogan’s congratulations and the cheers of the crowd, McGregor fixated on his absent second belt, demanding its presence emphatically. “Where the f* is my second belt!? Where’s the second at?! Cheap motherf****,”$4.2 billion this company was sold for, where’s that second belt?”, McGregor went on an epic rant.

Fortunately for the UFC, welterweight champion Tyron Woodley defended the title against Stephen Thompson in the co-main event. For the time being, the UFC official succeeded in persuading Woodley to give the belt to Conor McGregor for the time being.

McGregor reacts to Usman Nurmagomedov’s drug test failure

Khabib Nurmagomedov, the undefeated former UFC lightweight champion, had one of the most intense rivalries in the whole of combat sports with “The Notorious” Conor McGregor. Now retired, Nurmagomedov has his close friend and protege, Islam Makhachev as the lightweight champion. Moreover, he has cousins, Usman and Umar competing in MMA as well.

Umar Nurmagomedov is a highly touted prospect in the UFC’s bantamweight division whilst his younger brother Usman Nurmagomedov is the Bellator Lightweight champion. He recently fought Brent Primus in the Bellator Lightweight Grand Prix and won via unanimous decision. However, the result recently turned to a No Contest after CSAC found Nurmagomedov of a doping violation.

“I am not one bit surprised upon hearing another of the Nurmagomedov team testing positive for steroids. Hypocrites of the highest order.”, McGregor tweeted on X, formerly Twitter. The tweet has since been deleted as expected of Conor who has a history of deleting controversial tweets after posting them.

Apparently, Usman had a prescription for an illness and forgot to notify the Athletic Commission to get a TUE. He is suspended for 6 months and would rematch with Brent Primus after the completion of his sentence by the Commission. It was confirmed by Ali Abdelaziz, the manager of Dominance MMA.

Do you think Conor McGregor will return to the Octagon at UFC 300, if yes predict the opponent and way of victory.
