Logan Paul shocked the world last week, when he issued a legal warning to the number one contender for the United States Championship, Kevin Owens. Paul issued the warning due to a facial injury, caused by Owens after his match against Santos Escobar on Smackdown’s New Years Celebration.
As revenge for the previous attack, the US Champ made his appearance on today’s Smackdown episode and left the arena after attacking Owens, possibly causing an injury to his left arm.
Kevin Owens’ possible replacements to face Logan Paul at Royal Rumble
Kevin Owens earned his title shot for the United States Championship by winning the final of the tournament for the number 1 contender. He defeated Austin Theory to earn his opportunity in the final of the tournament and defeated Santos Escobar to become the number 1 contender.
After his injury in tonight’s SmackDown episode, speculations regarding the opponent for Logan Paul at the Royal Rumble started to rise up. WWE might be interested in replacing Owens with the members of LWO, Carlito, and Dragon Lee. Lee recently lost his NXT title on last NXT event and was rumored to comeback to Smackdown.
Another possible opponent for Logan is none other than Owens’ best friend, Sami Zayn. Both share a history of friendship and rivalry, but they reunited at WrestleMania 39, where they defeated The Usos to win the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship. They also had a brawl at WrestleMania 37, when Owens hit Logan with a stunner after his match against Zayn.
There are still names like Bobby Lashley, who lost the semifinal of the US Championship tournament against Escobar. There is no official confirmation if Owens has been removed from the match, but in the absence of him, these superstars might give a tough competition to Logan at the Royal Rumble.
Why did Logan Paul attack Kevin Owens’ injured arm?
During today’s Smackdown episode Kevin Owens invited the US Champion Logan Paul to his ‘KO Show’, as the special guest. Logan accepted and entered the ring for a small talk with Owens. Suddenly, Logan started to attack Owens with the steel chair and delivered a brutal right hand to Owens.
He capitalized and tried to attack Logan, but ended the brawl by injuring his arm after falling from the top rope. Logan gained his momentum and pushed Owens to the steel steps, leaving Owens to hardly hit on his injured arm.
Logan’s actions against Owens were due to a brutal injury he faced on the January 6th episode of SmackDown when Owens hit him with a vicious punch on his face, causing him a bruise. Owens attacked Logan after he insulted him and his Canadian heritage. With today’s attack, Logan has sent a clear message to Owens, and his availability for the match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view has become doubtful.
