Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey discloses his ranking of toughest WRs in NFL despite being sidelined due to foot injury

The Baltimore Ravens’ first-round pick of the 2017 NFL draft Marlon Humphrey cemented his legacy in the football world by being one of the top tacklers and turnover-makers during his six seasons with the team. Prior to the regular season, he earned a new feat by securing the No. 8 spot in NFL.com’s recent top 10 ranking of cornerbacks.

However, the renowned player, whom the opposition used to fear greatly, also has some frightful names that he recently revealed while also providing updated information on the foot injury that caused him to miss an undetermined number of games.

Marlon Humphrey’s top 4 toughest WRs in NFL

Marlon Humphrey recently appeared on the Punch Line podcast and named his toughest wide receivers to defend where he put Antonio Brown at the top list. This is because Brown, who tops the league in receptions (115), yards (1,498), and receiving touchdowns (11, tied for fourth place), is the hardest wide receiver he has ever had to cover in his career.

Davante Adams, the NFL’s top receiver over the past three seasons with a PFF receiving grade of 94.5 and a yards per route run average of 2.67, was cited by Marlon as his second greatest worry on the field.

The renowned cornerback mentioned Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins and Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings in the third and fourth spots of his list. Despite being 28 years old, Hill continued to be one of the most productive receivers in NFL history, and Jefferson was honored as the 2022 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year at “NFL Honors.”

Injury update on Marlon Humphrey

A scheduled surgery for Marlon Humphrey’s foot injury was slated for August 16 and according to reports, the procedure went smoothly. After the operation, Ravens coach John Harbaugh updated the news via Clifton Brown of BaltimoreRavens.com and added that the injury was not long-term but did not provide a time frame for the unavailability.

“He had the surgery. It went very well. The timeline is pretty well-defined,” he said.

Marlon Humphrey Deserves More Respect - Last Word on Pro Football

The cornerback for the Ravens shared some hopeful information in a recent podcast on his recovery from foot surgery last week. He shared that he “feels like [he] can go next week” which brought a lot of relief to his admirers.

The 27-year-old shared that he was adamant about getting himself ready for running again. So, according to the Ravens’ website, without wasting time he flew to Charlotte immediately when his doctor told him that he required the treatment.

“Because I’m trying to get back. I’m trying to get back.”

It would be interesting to watch if he bounces back soon and helps the Ravens team succeed with his renowned playing abilities.
