CJ Stroud’s leadership quality comes to fore after Will Anderson Jr. reveals post-Ravens game interaction

The Houston Texans’ rookie CJ Stroud has been a revelation this season. The way he has led the side to the playoffs this season is miles beyond what is expected of a quarterback in the first season of his professional career.

However, Stroud has made recent headway in the leadership aspect of his game as well. The recent loss to the Baltimore Ravens created his moment to shine as he consoled all of his rookie teammates and sent a message to the Texans’ faithful.

Will Anderson Jr. reveals CJ Stroud’s captain-esque moment

The loss to the Baltimore Ravens after getting into the divisional round playoff must sting for the Houston Texans. However, CJ Stroud did not let the young Texans outfit hang their heads in shame as he consoled his fellow teammates with words of passion and confidence.

Fellow rookie Defensive End Will Anderson Jr. was seen crying after the game, and Stroud went up to console his teammate. In the post-game press conference, Anderson Jr. revealed what the Quarterback spoke about. He said, “We’re good. We’re going to be good next year,” instilling confidence in the team’s potential.

According to Yardbarker, Anderson also spoke on how CJ Stroud has excelled as a leader throughout the season. He said, “Leader, captain as a rookie. The man he is. The teammate he is.. When you watch C.J. play, you don’t see a rookie. When you see him walk through this building, you don’t see a rookie.”

In the post-game press conference, Stroud returned the favor and waxed lyrical about Will Anderson Jr. and how he has been a resolute defensive presence during the season. He said, “He was really feeling that. I told Will he’s one of the most talented players I’ve been around in my life. l told him, ‘We’re going to be back in this moment.’ I wanted to see him encouraged and positive.”

The Houston Texans have come really far after a shambolic end to last season. Rookie coach DaMeco Ryans has definitely begun an era where the supporters can expect a lot of positive results from their beloved outfit.

He said, “I’m proud of our guys for their effort, being relentless throughout this entire season,” Ryans said. “I’m proud of them for getting to this moment. It’s not a moral victory just being here, and it’s not what we set out to do, but I’m proud of our team. This team accomplished a lot this year and is looking forward to the future.”
