Ex-F1 team owner Eddie Jordan makes bizarre Max Verstappen “mixture of Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher” claim

Max Verstappen has gained global recognition for his exceptional racing talent, solidifying his reputation as a solo force within the team. Numerous figures in the team deeply admire his on-track abilities, comparing his skills to those of the previous legends in the industry.

Similarly, F1 expert Eddie Brown recently drew comparisons between Verstappen’s abilities and those of Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher, recognizing the immense potential of the Dutch driver.

Eddie Jordan makes bizarre Max Verstappen claim

Last season, Max Verstappen achieved what other drivers would label as “impossible” by clinching 19 victories out of the 22 races held. In fact, in the last two seasons, he has secured a total of 34 Grand Prix victories and 54 Grand Prix victories throughout his entire racing career.

Achieving such incredible wins at such a young age is almost like a taboo to some F1 individuals. The Dutch sensation has also officially broken several records on the grid and clinched more victories than legendary drivers like Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, and Sebastian Vettel.

As of now, Verstappen has yet to break Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher’s seven world championship records.

The former owner of the Jordan team, Eddie Jordan, has heaped praise on the Red Bull driver, comparing his exceptional skills to two legends of F1 history by saying, “Max Verstappen is a mixture of Senna and Schumacher.”

“I have already experienced a lot. With Michael, it was already clear after the first test drives in Silverstone: He will become the challenger of Ayrton Senna. He was so fast right away that we thought the stopwatch was spinning,” Eddie Jordan spoke of his experiences with Schumacher and same the qualities that Max Verstappen possesses.

“I also worked with Heinz-Harald Frentzen – for me still the most underestimated Formula 1 driver of all time. He was a gifted natural talent.”

Drawing parallels between Verstappen and the legends before him, Eddie also said that the three-time Dutch World Champion has created such a barrier of dominance that the rest of the drivers are very unlikely to break any soon.

Max Verstappen hopes to do more in 2024

Although the 2023 season was overly satisfying for Red Bull, Max Verstappen claims he still has a lot more to showcase on the ground to fulfil his inner sportsmanship. However, Red Bull’s team principal has hinted at the challenges they may face, particularly in replicating the success of securing every Grand Prix victory due to uncertainties surrounding the performance of their new RB20.

The 26-year-old, on the other hand, is eager to challenge the drivers and test the abilities of his new vehicle to maintain dominance for the next few years. He also acknowledged the difficulty to do so, “I know it will be very hard to try and do better.”

Whether the Dutch superstar can out do himself in the coming season remains to be seen.
