Sheamus hints at WWE comeback

A legendary wrestler who is 45 years old recently hinted at a return to the Royal Rumble on social media. Sheamus has been absent from WWE TV for a while now since he last appeared on the August 18, 2023, episode of SmackDown. In that episode, he faced off against Edge, who has since moved to AEW. It’s been reported that Sheamus suffered a shoulder injury, and although he was expected to return in November, that did not happen.

Sheamus recently posted a tweet on his Twitter account to hint at his possible return to the Royal Rumble event in 2024. In the tweet, the Celtic Warrior shared a clip from his appearance in the 2014 Rumble and referenced a meme related to his theme song at the time, ‘Written in My Face’. The meme became popular among fans as they misheard one of the lyrics, “too many lies,” as “too many limes.”

“Too many limes,” wrote Sheamus.

How was Sheamus injured?

Sheamus has not participated in a WWE match since he lost to Edge, which may have been the last match for Edge in the company. Although the company has not addressed his absence, it was revealed by Dave Meltzer last year on an episode of “Wrestling Observer Radio” that Sheamus is currently out of action due to a severe shoulder injury.

It is unclear when the Celtic Warrior sustained his injury or how long he will be out of action, but that is why he has not been appearing on television or participating in WWE live events over the past month. Neither Sheamus nor WWE have provided an official statement on the situation, and it is unknown what the long-term plan is.
