Luka Doncic is one of the best talents the league has had in a long time. Apart from his amazing skill and talent to play basketball, the young star is also quite a friendly individual often seen joking around with teammates and coaching staff.
This indicates that it takes a whole lot of annoying behavior for Luka to get mad at his fans. Recently, in the Dallas Mavericks’ game against the Phoenix Suns, Doncic seemed visibly annoyed by a certain Suns fan before he requested action to be taken.
Doncic’s frustration boils over as fan’s taunts cross the line
The Dallas Mavericks lost to the Phoenix Suns, earlier today in frustrating fashion and Luka failed to repeat his Christmas Day masterclass against the Phoenix team. In a game that was far from over, the Mavericks decided to take their foot off the pedal which eventually led to an onslaught from Suns’ star Devin Booker, who heated up in the third quarter, outscoring Luka Doncic and the Mavs, 22-20.
The Suns, led by Devin Booker, who ended the night with 46 points, 3 assists, and 7 rebounds, dominated the match. On the other hand, Doncic played without his co-star Kyrie Irving. Scoring 34, Doncic did not have his best night of shooting with 11 of 24 from the field and 4 of 11 from behind the arc.
In the fourth quarter, Luka seemed unusually bothered by a Phoenix Suns fan who was sitting amidst the crowds. Annoyed and frustrated by the spectator’s constant heckling, Luka approached the arena security, asking them to remove the fan from the game, thereby ejecting him from the basketball arena.
Speaking on the incident, Luka Doncic expressed his irritation saying, “They paid for tickets, but I had enough. It’s a little bit of frustration.” Luka’s frustration reached breaking points following the antics from the fan that occurred throughout the game.
Fan’s provocative taunts lead to ejection request
Luka Doncic’s request to eject the fan did not come out of nowhere. Throughout the game, the fan was seen hurling insults and phrases aimed against the Slovenian superstar. The constant jibes against Luka eventually got to the player, following which he requested the arena security to escort the fan out of the arena.
The superstar drew the line when he heard the fan’s atrocious comments over his fitness. Criticizing Luka, the fan said, “Luka, you’re tired! Get your ass on the treadmill!” which led to the immediate security measures, led by Luka’s request.
