After dominant KO win over Daniel Dubois, Oleksandr Usyk calls out Tyson Fury: “I’m ready next fight”

Oleksandr Usyk patiently waited for about a year seeking a positive resolution in the negotiations with Tyson Fury, which despite his efforts, ultimately fell through. However, after a commanding knockout victory against Daniel Dubois tonight, Usyk once again called out The Gypsy King.

Prior to the fight with the British heavyweight being called off, the Ukrainian heavyweight icon presented a eleventh-hour proposal to make the fight happen. The Cat suggested he’s ready to proceed under the condition of a 30-70 revenue split. However, despite this attempt, the discussions between the two sides failed.

Oleksandr Usyk defeats Daniel Dubois

Since 2021, the IBO heavyweight champion engaged in only two bouts, both of which were against Anthony Joshua. However, yesterday marked a significant return for Usyk, as he entered the ring after a long interval to participate in his highly anticipated summer match. Oleksandr defended his title in a mandatory fight against Daniel Dubois.

At the Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Usyk, known for his in-ring prowess, concluded the bout with Dubois by delivering a ninth-round knockout. This victory allowed him to successfully retain his World Heavyweight Titles from WBO, WBA-Super, IBO, and IBF.

Following the 21st victory of his professional career, Usyk expressed his happiness by stating, “Boxing is a tough sport, but I’m big. I’m in love with boxing and the ring, but it’s boxing and not ballet. It’s boxing, a tough sport,”

Oleksandr Usyk calls out Tyson Fury

Originally scheduled for April 29, the highly anticipated clash between “The Cat” and “The Gipsy King” was postponed for the time being due to a range of technical difficulties. This delay intensified the existing rivalry between these two prominent heavyweight boxers.

Following his victory that stopped ‘Dynamite’s’ string of wins, Oleksandr has once again challenged Fury. This has ignited hope among boxing enthusiasts for the much-anticipated boxing showdown.

“I’m ready tomorrow for Tyson Fury. Listen, I’m ready next fight. But does Tyson Fury want? I have no idea. But I’m ready, I want.” Usyk said.

Meanwhile, a crossover boxing match is on the horizon for Tyson Fury, who is scheduled to take on Francis Ngannou on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event has been officially confirmed by Queensberry, Top Rank, and GIMIK Fight Promotions. It is safe to say that there will not be a fight between the Brit and the Ukrainin within this calendar year!
