It was recently revealed that Kyrie Irving missed out on a hefty sum of $1 million after being sidelined in the match against the Atlanta Hawks due to a right thumb sprain. Kyrie missed his 18th game after sitting out in the game against the Atlanta Hawks.
The injury disqualified him from winning any awards this season under the Player Participation. This also made Uncle Drew miss out on the opportunity to receive the $1 million incentive awarded to players who actively participate in the games.
It is sad for the Mavs star as he is among the best talents in the league. However, missing out on games has been a constant issue in his career. Apart from Kyrie, the Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is also under the threat of facing a similar fate as the Mavs guard.

According to reports, he was suffering from a right thumb sprain in the match against the Hawks but there has been no status report of his injury for now. It is likely that he would play in the Mavs vs Kings match as a thumb sprain can be healed with some rest.
The Mavs are currently the 8th seed in the Western Conference with a record of 25-20. The franchise led by Luka Doncic really needs to kick their performances up a notch if they hope to make it to the playoffs. Kyrie, on the other hand, needs to be extra attentive to his health and try his best to stay healthy to contribute to his team.
