The seven-time Super Bowl Winner Tom Brady spent a great portion of his legendary football career with the New England Patriots. After leaving his mark pretty much unanimously for more than one decade in New England, the Patriots attempted to bring intense competition for him by adding Jimmy Garoppolo to their roster.
Now after walking away from the NFL, Tom and Garoppolo again reunited in Las Vegas as prospective team owner and player. In the Raiders’ latest preseason game, the retired Patriots player provided some cheeky words toward his former teammate to boost him up.
Brady’s light-hearted words for Garoppolo before the match
On March 16, 2023, Jimmy signed with the Vegas Raiders as an unrestricted free agent, and Tom Brady announced this offseason that he would become a minority owner of the franchise. The two reunited again, although in a new outfit, after seven years.
However, during his time with the Patriots, the 46-year-old played the role of mentoring his team including Garoppolo. Before Saturday’s exhibition game against the Dallas Cowboys, he was once more seen acting in the same role as the Raiders’ owner.
The fifteen-time Pro Bowler was caught on camera sending a playful message to them stating, “Go ruin their night” as a preseason boost, as Garoppolo, Aidan O’Connell, Chase Garbers, and a few other Raiders players were on their way to exit the locker room.

The ruining machine who terrorized the opponents during his 23-year NFL journey is now vying to set another milestone as an owner. Nevertheless, the other 31 NFL teams will need to vote to approve the retired player as a minority owner, leaving his ownership in doubt.
Did Jimmy Garoppolo and Tom Brady play together?
Tom Brady and Garoppolo have spent more than five years together in New England and throughout this time they developed a pretty close relationship. The former NFL player didn’t seem too pleased when the Patriots first brought Jimmy after picking him in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft as he might have believed that the Patriots had given up on him.
Later, the Patriots demonstrated their confidence in TB12 by making him the starter after he helped them win six Super Bowls. Jimmy was able to make two starts after serving a four-game suspension in 2016 during his tenure with Tom Terrific.
Despite having a large age gap and competing on the field, the pair tried to forge a long-term connection. Garoppolo revealed how their connection developed back in 2020 when Tom departed the Patriots. The 31-year-old claimed that they used to have regular conversations where their families, children, and other concerns took precedence so they could learn about one another’s preferences.
“The daily conversations initially were new to me,” Garoppolo said. âWeâre talking about his family, his kids, things like that. And Iâm a 22-year-old kid, fresh out of college, so that took a little while. But the friendship, the competitiveness that we always had for each other, that pretty much clicked right away.”
The NFL world witnessed the duo’s success as teammates. It will now be interesting to see if they can entice the NFL community with a different type of relationship.
