Dwayne Johnson has been headlining the internet since the beginning of 2024. Firstly, he made a surprise return to WWE on January 1 to challenge Roman Reigns, and last week, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors in the UFC-WWE merger, The TKO Group.
The Rock is not only a famous wrestler and actor but also a generous philanthropist who has been supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation for many years. Recently, he partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the fifth time and fulfilled the wishes of the children.
Dwayne Johnson grants 21 wishes in massive Make-A-Wish campaign
Being a non-profit organization, The Make-A-Wish Foundation has fulfilled the wishes of children with critical illnesse, since 1980 and has granted more than 500,000 wishes to children around the world. Dwayne Johnson has been involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation since his days as a WWE superstar, and continued to grant wishes throughout his Hollywood career, meeting hundreds of kids and their families.
On December 4, 2023, he partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant the wishes of 21 kids who wanted to meet him. The foundation brought the 21 kids and their families to Universal Studios, where they had a full day of fun activities. They got to ride the Jurassic World VelociCoaster, watch the Fast & Furious stunt show, and enjoy a private screening of Johnson’s latest movie, Black Adam.
Johnson shared a video of the event on his social media accounts, where he expressed his gratitude and honor for being able to grant the wishes. He also made a special note to Kids’ parents, thanking them for this opportunity.
He wrote, “And special shout out to all the parents and family members who allowed me the privilege and honor to make their loved ones’ wishes come true. You parents and loved ones are the real rockstars of your families — and your kids are the REAL HEROES. Love you guys, stay strong and I’ll see you down the road.”
The Rock’s storied rival holds record for most wishes granted
WWE has been a long-time partner of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and has granted hundreds of wishes in the past 20 years. Superstars such as Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes, Triple H, Natalya are some wrestlers who are often involved in these activities.
Among all these superstars, the former rival of The Rock and the 16 time WWE Champion, John Cena holds the record for for the most wishes granted by a single individual. He has been involved with Make-A-Wish since 2002 and has granted a total of 650 wishes.
The Cenation Leader granted his first wish in 2002, to a child named Jonathan and since then he has never stopped giving back to the children who look up to him. Cena is the most requested celebrity by the children who wish to meet him, and no one else has ever granted more than 400 wishes in the 42-year existence of Make-A-Wish
Despite their rivalry within the WWE ring, both Cena and Rock consistently come together to fulfill the aspirations of young WWE fans by making their dreams into reality.
