Sami Zayn claims “The Rock is lucky to have the WWE” after his return to challenge Roman Reigns

The Great One made a grand return to WWE on SmackDown, and there was a staredown between him and Roman Reigns. Cody Rhodes seemed to have given up his spot against The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania 40 to The Rock, which received mixed responses from fans.

After the latest episode of SmackDown, WWE superstar Sami Zayn gave a heartfelt speech to the fans in attendance. He mentioned The Rock’s return at the end of the show and had a strong message for the audience. Sami Zayn shared his balanced view on the situation, stating that the Hollywood megastar’s return was awesome.

Sami Zayn sends a strong message to WWE fans

Over the past year, Sami Zayn has been enjoying a lot of success as one of WWE’s most popular good guys. Recently, he was present when The Rock made a surprise appearance on SmackDown, and he commented that The Rock was fortunate to be part of WWE. In the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, The Rock returned and confronted Roman Reigns. Before this, Cody Rhodes had publicly announced that he would not challenge Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

After Friday Night SmackDown ended, Sami Zayn addressed the crowd and delivered a promo. He mentioned that The Rock is fortunate to have been a part of WWE and then went on to praise the current generation of WWE wrestlers, stating that they are the best when it comes to in-ring performances.

”It’s awesome to have The Rock. We’re lucky to have him. But you know, The Rock is lucky to have the WWE, too. Because we are living in the best time with the best Superstars in the WWE. For years and years, our generation, we have constantly listened to people talking about the good ol’ days. Well I got news for you, tonight 10,000 people sold out this building in birmingham. The scene of the best performers in the world. So I have news for you, the good ol’ days are right here and right now,” said Sami Zayn.

How many times has The Rock headlined WrestleMania?

Although The Rock is a huge star in professional wrestling, movies, and television, he has only won one main event at WrestleMania out of his five appearances. This is due to the storylines of his matches. In his first main event at WrestleMania XV, he portrayed the character of a corporate villain against Steve Austin, and it was evident that he was supposed to lose the match.

At WrestleMania 2000 (XVI), he participated in a Fatal Four-way match against Triple H, Mick Foley, and The Big Show but lost, despite having a good chance of winning. However, in the following month, he managed to defeat Triple H in a match that drew a huge audience.

At WrestleMania X-Seven, The Rock was defeated by Steve Austin once again. This happened after Stone Cold teamed up with Vince McMahon, which ended up killing the Attitude Era. Surprisingly, The Rock did not participate in the main event of WrestleMania for another 11 years, as he was too busy becoming the biggest star in the world.

However, he returned to win against John Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII, which was his only victory. Initially, he was expected to lose the match until they realized at the last minute that it was taking place in his hometown of Miami, Florida. Later, The Rock returned for WrestleMania XXIX but lost the bout and the WWE belt during a rematch against John Cena called “Twice In A Lifetime”. Now he is again set to headline this year’s WrestleMania against Roman Reigns.
