F1 News: Why is Red Bull investigating team boss Christian Horner?

Christian Horner has been at the forefront of Red Bull Racing’s leadership since 2005 and has led the team to unparalleled success, witnessing his drivers clinch an impressive seven drivers’ titles and six constructors’ world championships. His leadership has established an unrivalled dominance among the other principals on the paddock.

However, recently, despite being one of the most successful team leaders, Horner has been accused of heinous assault allegations, which are currently being investigated by the famous owners of the F1 team.

Why is Christian Horner being investigated by Red Bull?

According to the Austrian energy drinks company Red Bull, which owns the F1 team named after it, a female colleague has accused the team boss, Christian Horner, of inappropriate behaviour. However, the 50-year-old has plainly denied all the arising accusations, saying, “I completely deny these claims.”

Formula One has been quite aggressive towards female fans or the female staff in general, which also explains the absence of female drivers on the grid for decades. However, Red Bull has decided to conduct the case fairly by initiating an internal investigation to examine all the allegations, even though they have refused to reveal any specific details of the accusations yet.

Later on, the company released an official statement that said, “This process, which is already underway, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister.

“After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation. The company takes these matters extremely seriously, and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.” Since this statement was released, there has been no further update on the investigation.

Christian Horner allegedly requested to resign as team boss

The allegations against the team boss have reached dire consequences and raised controversies against Horner, which are profusely affecting the company as well as the F1’s team reputation currently. As a result, Red Bull has asked him to voluntarily step down from the position, according to Motorsport-Total.com.

However, the British have completely rejected the company’s offer to step down from the position, calling it “nuts.” Horner has also denied commenting on anything regarding the allegations or his future. This case could either have an upside-down effect on his career or get back to normal.
