Today, WWE fans in Salt Lake City witnessed one of the greatest heel turns in WWE history. The Rock made his return to SmackDown, channeling the Hollywood Rock era from 2003 when he turned heel and engaged in feuds with legends like Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Making a dramatic entrance on today’s SmackDown, The Rock unleashed a furious tirade against the fans at the Delta Center. Their persistent chants of ‘We want Cody’ fueled The Great One’s wrath, igniting an intense reaction from him.
The Rock goes on furious rant on WWE fans
In today’s episode Friday night’s SmackDown, the people’s champion, The Rock ended the show with a scathing promo that tore into the fans and Cody Rhodes, who is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40.
During his promo, Rock went off script and directly slashed a WWE fan, who was holding the ‘We want Cody’ sign. Rock said, “You shut your mouth fatty or the Rock will come there & slap the herpes of your face.”
The Rock blamed the fans for allegedly ruining the biggest match in WrestleMania history by complaining about Cody Rhodes getting screwed over. He reduced Rhodes’ story to a loser’s pity lap and referred to the fans as “spoiled, entitled little crybaby bitches.”
Today, The Rock showed no respect for WWE fans and made it clear that he considers them pathetic and delusional. He also mocked Cody, referring to him as a “little friend” and a “boy” who has no idea what’s coming for him.
Who will be The Rock’s opponent in WrestleMania 40?
The Rock, after becoming the board member of the TKO Group, WWE’s parent company, was believed to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. However, the table got turned at the WWE Kickoff press conference, when the winner of 2024 men Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes, decided to face Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
There were no plans made for The Rock; however, in today’s episode of SmackDown, Rock was officially inducted as a member of The Bloodline family. Previously Reigns was rumoured to go against the Rock, after he shadowed him at the WWE Press conference.
Previously, in an interview, The Rock has announced that he will compete in one final match at the grandest stage of them all, but against a worthy opponent. However, Rock can make his appearance to support Roman Reigns, but still there is no official confirmation whether he will have a chance to face a WWE superstar in WrestleMania 40.
