How Charlotte Flair pulled Tiffany Stratton into wrestling biz

Charlotte Flair joined the WWE brand in 2012, and after three years, in 2015, she made her first appearance on the main roster as a new talent in the women’s division. Flair then became the ‘Woman of the Year’ and one of the top female professional wrestlers in the Stamford-based company.

WWE introduces new talents to the business every year from all over the world, and one such star making waves is Tiffany Stratton. Recently, it was revealed that Charlotte unknowingly motivated Tiffany to join the wrestling world.

Tiffany Stratton credited her Wrestling transition to Charlotte Flair

Tiffany Stratton made her debut in the NXT brand and quickly went on to become a household name within WWE. Stratton made her first premium live event debut on Royal Rumble back in January 27 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. After that, she had her first match in the blue brand against Mia Yim.

A little while back, Tiffany Stratton revealed that the 14-time women’s world champion Charlotte Flair is the reason she got into the wrestling business. During an interview with the Stick to Wrestling podcast, the 24-year-old said, “One day, I was watching TV with my family. We’re flipping through the channels and come across wrestling — I believe it was Friday Night SmackDown. It was Charlotte Flair that I saw on the TV screen. My mother was like, ‘You can totally do that.'”

Tiffany continued how she saw herself in Flair which slowly encouraged her to pursue a career in wrestling. “I was taken aback a little bit because I saw Charlotte, someone who was jacked and could do all these cool moves. She was a gymnast like I was. She’s blonde and gorgeous. I just connected with it right off the bat — because I saw a little bit of me in Charlotte.”

Charlotte Flair tipped Stratton as a future star

‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair is one of the highest-paid wrestlers in the women’s division, the master of ‘Figure 8 Leg-Lock’ has been in the industry for a long time and knows how to discern a talent whenever she sees one. Back in August 2023, the ‘Queen of WWE’ praised the WWE NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.

She said, “There is a future star, I mean she’s a star now, her name is Tiffany Stratton. She’s like, ‘It’s because of you I wanted to become a wrestler’ and I’m like, ‘Hold on, I’m not that old Tiffany, please don’t say that in interviews’ But she’s that young. It blows my mind to realize that.”

Charlotte continued saying how special she felt when she realized that she inspired a future superstar to start wrestling. “I’ve had a hard time enjoying the journey and I’m just now learning how to enjoy the journey, I’ve been constantly on the go. I don’t think about it all the time, but I got to meet Tiffany privately one day and we were just talking and I was just blown away by the impact I left on her and it felt really special.”

Charlotte Flair is currently out of action after she took an awkward fall from the top rope during a match with Asuka. Fans are eagerly waiting for ‘The Queen’ to make a healthy recovery and return to the ring.
