Social media stars are modern-day influencers boasting millions of followers and subscribers across the internet. These influencers often collaborate with sports celebrities to promote their ventures and businesses. Similarly, two of the biggest YouTubers-turned boxers and internet personalities, Logan Paul and KSI, came together to found the hydration drink brand Prime.
Prime has gained significant popularity, thanks to the immense acclaim of its founders. They have regularly appeared in social media posts alongside big sporting superstars and teams from the NFL, boxing, soccer, UFC, and ice hockey, having partnered with them. Recently, Borussia Dortmund became the latest addition to their list of partnerships.
Logan Paul & KSI’s Prime becomes Borussia Dortmund’s official drink
The Bundesliga giants, Borussia Dortmund, have become the latest sports team to announce their official partnership with Prime, the hydration drink, on Wednesday. The club released a video on its social media handles featuring Jadon Sancho, Ian Maatsen, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens showing off the energy drink.
It was launched in January 2022 by famous YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI, who boast 40 million subscribers on the platform. The duo announced their venture during a live Instagram feed, revealing the founding of a new energy drink called ‘Prime Hydration’. Since then, the brand’s popularity has disrupted the American and UK markets.
In no time, it became one of the most popular drinks worldwide. People queued up outside supermarkets on the first day just to get their hands on the trending drink. They generated over $250 million through retail sales, surpassing some of the biggest brands, and have now entered the German market.
Carsten Cramer, the club’s Chief Marketing Officer, expressed his delight on the new partnership, saying, “BVB is very excited and proud that two ambitious brands have joined forces. PRIME is an upcoming brand with products popular among younger people—a significant target audience for BVB to manifest its continuous growth. Therefore, we’re convinced both brands will benefit tremendously from this partnership.”
Prime’s all star-studded sponsorship roster
Prime has previously partnered with some of the most popular clubs from Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany, including Barcelona, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich, among other top teams across Europe.
The Premier League club Arsenal was the first to partner with the brand, thanks to KSI, a massive supporter of the Gunners who has been vocal about his love for the London side. Later, the German and Spanish champions, Bayern Munich and Barcelona, also signed deals to make Prime their sponsor.
Additionally, superstars like Manchester City’s ace Erling Haaland and Aston Villa women’s soccer star Alisha Lehmann, who became the first female athlete to become a Prime athlete, have joined the brand.
