Bayley, the first ever Grand Slam Champion in the women’s division, is ready to face her former friend Iyo Sky for the WWE Womens’ Champion, at WrestleMania 40. Bayley earned her shot by wining the Womens’ Royal Rumble Match last month.
Since, Bayley’s victory, the WWE fans showed thier immense support for her to win the title at WrestleMania 40. In addition to WWE fans, a former WWE Superstar has joined the ranks in expressing support for Bayley as she journeys toward WrestleMania 40.
Bayley receives plaudits from wrestling veteran
As Bayley gears up to challenge Iyo Sky for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40, former WWE superstar Shelton Benjamin voiced his support for her. During a recent episode of the Black Rasslin’ Podcast, Shelton was featured as one of the special guests and shared insights into Bayley’s tenure as a WWE star.
Shelton said, “This is to all social media. You need to be talking about Bayley a whole lot more. Don’t get me wrong, everyone’s hot on The Rock and Cody and ‘finish the story.’ But at the same time, I say, like CM Punk said, Bayley won the Royal Rumble, and all anyone is talking about is Cody’s story. Give Bayley her flowers. I think she’s one of the most underrated girls on the roster.”
Benjamin remarked that the recent controversy involving Cody Rhodes and The Rock has overshadowed Bayley’s spotlight. He also referenced CM Punk’s statement regarding Bayley, highlighting that while the WWE fans were consumed with discussions about Cody Rhodes, they neglected to support Bayley, the winner of the Women’s Royal Rumble.
Shelton also said that Bayley is an underrated superstar and the company never saw the talent in her. He concluded his remarks by confidently stating that Bayley will emerge victorious and claim the title at WrestleMania 40.
Bayley relives her memories with Damage CTRL members
Recently, on her official Twitter handle, Bayley shared multiple pictures of her with the Damage CTRL. There was no caption or explanation for the photos, but it had the former WWE Superstar, Sasha Banks, who is currently rumoured to make her debut to WWE’s long time rival AEW.
It also had the pictures of Bayley and Sasha Banks, celebrating the victory of Iyo Sky during her time in NXT, where she won the NXT Women Champion. The WWE Universe witnessed an unexpected twist in the first SmackDown episode after Royal Rumble, where Bayley was betrayed by her own Damage CTRL members.

The faction was formed by Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Io Shirai at SummerSlam 2022. In late 2023, when Bayley suffered a serious injury, Dakota Kai assumed the leadership role and began to make decisions without consulting Bayley.
However, Bayley’s attempt to reunite Damage CTRL in 2024 went unsuccessful, and she realized that they no longer respected or trusted her. She was betrayed and attacked by Kai and Sane, who blamed her for the downfall of the faction.
