Tony Ferguson calls out Jake Paul for a boxing fight
Tony Ferguson called out Jake Paul on his recent appearance on the JAXXON podcast, hosted by Quinton Rampage Jackson, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, and Bear Degidio. “I’m going to be real with you. I’m calling out Jake (Paul)…I would love to fight you,” Ferguson called out the crossover boxing star on the podcast.
Rampage Jackson was quick to reply that Paul would accept the fight but was wary of Dana White being unhappy about it. “I don’t give a shit what Dana says, he knows already. He doesn’t owe me shit, and I don’t owe him anything. I’ve done enough for this fucking company,” Ferguson said in reply to Dana White’s potential hindrance.

Dana White has in the past blocked a potential boxing match between Oscar De La Hoya and UFC legend Georges St-Pierre, but it was mainly due to White’s animosity with De La Hoya. UFC fighters are required to sign exclusive deals and therefore lose the ability to fight outside the promotion.
Nonetheless, the UFC co-promoted the boxing fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, which broke several records in boxing history. Jake Paul recently called out Sean Strickland for a sparring match after the former UFC champion bloodied up streamer Sneako in sparring.
Is Tony Ferguson planning to retire from UFC?
Tony Ferguson lost for the seventh consecutive time at UFC 296 where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett. Fans and fighters alike, including UFC CEO Dana White, called for Ferguson to retire from the sport but Ferguson has no plans of retiring anytime soon.
“I’m already a fucking Hall of Famer, man. They already fucking know, and you know what? I’m not retiring,” Ferguson said on the JAXXON podcast when asked about his retirement plans. “Anytime I get hurt, I come back with a fucking vengeance, “Ferguson further added as he cited his losses as motivation to get back up better than ever.
“Nobody’s going to tell us what the fuck to do…Fuck retiring,” Ferguson sent a stern warning to people calling for retirement. It needs to be noted that Rampage Jackson is coming back from retirement as he is scheduled to face Shannon Briggs in Riyadh.
At present, Ferguson’s seven-fight losing streak is tied with BJ Penn for the longest. However, it needs to be noted that he had a 12-fight winning streak in the lightweight division which is a record he currently shares with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev.
