2024 NFL Draft: Tennessee’s Jaylen Wright races towards the NFL draft, can he outrun the doubts and become a top pick?

NFL analysts taking a look at the current crop of players available in the draft, have also singled out the 20-year-old due to his wonderful skill set. According to Sports Illustrated, Mel Kiper, one of the most respected analysts in the NFL community, waxed lyrical about this upcoming talent.

“I like everything about him,” Kiper explained. “In the NFL, you’ve got to be able to run through contact, basically make the first defender miss, and if you get into a situation where you’re off-balance, the ability to keep the chains moving with an extra yard or two, that he showed he could provide. I’m a big fan of Jaylen Wright from Tennessee. If you can get him in that fifth-round area, you’ve got yourself one heck of a running back.”

All the scouts taking a look at Jaylen Wright ahead of the 2024 Draft would only be looking at his speed and agility on and off the ball. However, there are plenty more qualities in the Tennessee RB that make him one of the more interesting prospects of this season.

According to Big Blue View, apart from his pace, the one skill that shines above the rest in Wright’s repertoire is his excellent game awareness and ability to adapt to the game situation. In some of the games that haven’t gone in the direction of the Vols this past season, Jaylen Wright has been the one to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and showcase his competitive toughness to eke out a result.
