After getting back to b-balling following his significant life ordeal, Bronny James’ draft projection has been the talk of the town, and the case remains the same even now.
While fans are eager to see the father-son duo together on the court, things are not looking too good for the draft prospect.
Bronny James reportedly excluded from 2024 NBA Mock Draft
Bronny James has been removed from the 2024 NBA mock draft by ESPN following his unimpressive performance for the Trojans.
After missing four months due to cardiac arrest, the 19-year-old has not shown any signs of being on the level for this year’s draft. Averaging 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season, Bronny struggled to shine in his freshman season.
Both Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo, the ESPN NBA analysts have positioned Bronny as the 39th overall pick in the 2025 mock draft. Although Givony emphasized loving the boy and his past performance and said if the point guard continues to thrive for the best then he could be seen as a lottery pick.
Bronny was considered as the lottery pick for the upcoming draft earlier this season. There are several franchises who are considering selecting the junior James in the draft in order to get his 4-time NBA Champion father in their teams.
LeBron James defends son Bronny
LeBron James has often expressed his desire to play in the same team as his eldest son. Like a protective father, LeBron came to Bronny’s defense slamming the NBA community that started mocking the junior after the news broke out of him being projected for 2025.
LeBron has attended multiple college basketball games to see his son in action and has always been all praises and emotional. The NBA all-time leading scorer, known for conveying his views on X, had previously compared his son with the other college basketball players on the social media platform, “Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I’ve been watching on league pass today. Shit lightweight hilarious”.
Defending his son on X (formerly Twitter) the 39-year-old wrote, “Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball. The work and results will ultimately do the talking no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS! Earned Not Given!”.
The tweet was later deleted by him.
The Lakers forward has always shown immense pride in Bronny as he strives to create his own identity rather than using the powers of his surname. Despite not being selected in the coming draft, junior James still has a possibility of getting selected as a lottery pick. It will be interesting to see whether LeBron’s desire to play with his son in the foreseeable future gets fulfilled or not.
