Anthony Edwards has been the heart and soul of the Minnesota Timberwolves with his commanding performances throughout the season. His rich vein of form did not go unnoticed as NBA legends like Shaquille O’Neal heaped praise on the 22-year-old.

With already a catalogue of highlight reel moments in the season, Anthony Edwards added another one to it with a massive dunk. The dunk went viral in minutes and reiterated his great potential once again.

Anthony Edwards reacts to slam dunk on John Collins

Anthony Edwards sculpted his name to the list of one of the best dunks in the NBA following the Minnesota Timberwolves game on Monday against the Utah Jazz. The “Ant-Man” had a hilarious reaction seeing the replay of his dunk in post-game.

In the game, Edwards shot a massive dunk on Jazz’s John Collins and got fouled by the latter in the process which gave away an additional free throw to the Timberwolves shooting guard.

After the game, when Edwards was shown the clip of his dunk, impressed with his shot the 22-year-old said, “Lil a** ni**a”. He also revealed that he experienced immense pain while doing it and assumedly dislocated his finger. With Karl-Anthony Towns and Jaylen Clark sidelined for an indefinite time, it would have been hard for the Minnesota giants to lose another player due to injury now that they are closer to the decisive phase of the season.

During the third quarter of the game, after receiving the ball from teammate Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Edwards climbed over Collins and shot the monstrous dunk helping the team with a 67-66 lead over the Jazz. Collins left the court after receiving an injury and did not return to the game while Edwards got the opportunity to shoot the free throw.

Timberwolves defeat Jazz to extend win streak

The Timberwolves defeated the Utah franchise in back-to-back games extending the former’s winning streak to three games.

In the absence of the DPOY contender Rudy Gobert, Anthony Edwards stepped up to take responsibility for the Wolves offenses. Contributing a game-high 32 points, 7 rebounds, and dishing out 8 assists, “Ant” helped the Timberwolves 114-104 win over the Jazz.

Despite grabbing a 37-25 lead in the first quarter of the game, the 12th-seeded team of the Western Conference got outpowered by the Wolves in the other three quarters. On failing to make a comeback, the Jazz accepted their defeat recording 29-39 this season.

The Timberwolves have had one of the best defensive records this season and are in the 2nd position of the Western table with a 47-21 record. Minnesota will face Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets on Wednesday, who have been extremely successful in the league coming back from the NBA All-Star break.
