The Great Khali rumored to return to WWE at Superstar Spectacle
After nearly 6 years, WWE makes its long-awaited return to India with Superstar Spectacle, scheduled to take place today in the city of Hyderabad at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. Notably, this event will not be available on the WWE Network or the streaming service Peacock, as it is exclusive to India.
According to PWInsider via WrestlingNewsCo, there are rumors that the former World Heavyweight Champion could be making an appearance at the show. However, at present, there is no additional information available regarding the specific role or capacity in which the Hall of Famer might be involved in the event. It’s possible that his appearance could be driven by the event’s location in India, where The Great Khali’s presence would undoubtedly be a significant attraction.
When Khali made his WWE debut, he engaged in a heated and extended rivalry with The Undertaker, even capturing a world title during their feud. However, over the past decade, he has wrestled sparingly, with only a few sporadic appearances. Notably, he assisted fellow Indian wrestler Jinder Mahal in retaining his World Heavyweight Championship during a Punjabi Prison Match in 2017 and participated in the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018.
In recognition of his contributions to the industry, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.Regarding the Superstar Spectacle, the initial advertisement featured Jinder Mahal’s stable, The Indus Sher, competing for the Tag Team Championship against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. However, plans changed when Owens and Zayn lost the belts to The Judgement Day at Payback.
