The build-up to fights has always been the most exciting part of WWE Universe since its beginning. With The Rock’s return to the Stamford-based promotion, things have become even more interesting, especially when it comes to his feud with Cody Rhodes, which is considered top-notch and will have their official match at WrestleMania 40.
Since then, social media has become the battleground for The Great One and The American Nightmare, as he has not only targeted Rhodes but also, recently, his mother, Michelle Rubio.
The Rock talks on special gift only for Mama Rhodes
It’s easy to forget how ruthless The Rock can be in the wrestling ring with his success in Hollywood. However, the actor and professional wrestler is once again exciting fans with intense promos leading up to the highly anticipated match between Cody Rhodes and The Rock. Unfortunately, this time he went too far by making the matter personal and bringing Mama Rhodes into the conversation, crossing a line that should not have been crossed.
During a recent event in Memphis, The Great One brought back his 2003 “The Rock” concert and posted a promo on Twitter in which he insulted Cody Rhodes. He referenced a moment when Rhodes wanted to present the WWE Undiputed Universal Championship title to his mother, and The Rock suggested that he had a different belt for both Rhodes and his mother.
The People’s Champ showed off his workout weight belt and used it to beat his opponent. He promised to give it to Rhodes’ mother once it was stained with the blood of her son. He wrote in the tweet, “Your tears. Cody’s blood. My hands. Mama Rhodes, The Rock has a very special belt being made just for you!”
The Rock addresses WWE fans on Smackdown
WWE fans have been treated to more appearances from The Rock since he returned for his WrestleMania 40 program. In last week’s episode of SmackDown, The Great One showcased his musical talents. He shed his heel persona while in Memphis and kicked off the show by singing a few songs on the way to WrestleMania 40, without The Bloodline.
The Rock began his speech by stating that he usually insults every city he visits, but Memphis is an exception. Despite this, he couldn’t bring himself to be cruel to the fans, who cheered him loudly in response. He abandoned his villainous persona and spoke about his early days in Memphis. He then exclaimed, “At long last, The Rock has returned … home.”
In his rap lyrics, The Rock mentioned Cody Rhodes’ mother and how Cody was born, claiming that the story is historically accurate. He showed a photo of Stardust on the screen and said that Dusty Rhodes knew his son was weird. The People’s Champ also threw shade at Seth Rollins, stating that his wife, Becky Lynch, is more popular than he is. He then rapped about the Cody Crybabies.
Recently, The Great One uploaded a clip of that promo on his Twitter and appreciated the Crowd present in the arena during that event. He wrote, “What a crowd What a PULSE Feel the mana”.
