Everyone in the wrestling world is counting down the days before WrestleMania, the most anticipated event of the wrestling year. Any injury right now could prevent a Superstar from participating in WrestleMania, which would be a setback for the team planning the show.
Sadly, tension has escalated with the emergence of a new injury report. Just days before WM 40, Finn Balor sustained a head injury. Despite the setback, he may still have to participate in the six-pack ladder tag team match next week.
Finn Balor shows gnarly head injury
For WrestleMania 40, WWE has scheduled every big title match as possible, including tag team and singles contests. Finn Balor, the leader of the Judgment Day, will be defending his WWE tag team titles with Damian Priest at the big event in Philadelphia. But there are worries since he was spotted with a big bump on his head during a recent live performance.
‘The Demon’ published a video on his social media account with the title “Easter Egg,” in which he revealed the big bulge on his forehead. Even though he’s hurt, he seems to be in a furious mood which is a good sign overall.
Whatever caused the damage is a mystery, but it most likely happened at a recent WWE live event while he and Damian Priest battled to defend their tag team titles.
This is not Balor’s first appearance at the main event with an injury. At WrestleMania 39, he was hit hard with a ladder, which badly hurt his head and stopped the match for a while. Balor’s mental toughness allowed him to come back and give the crowd a memorable WrestleMania moment.
Meanwhile, some reports have been circulating leading up to the mega event that WWE may shuffle the six-pack ladder tag team match roster. But fans needn’t panic because Finn Balor will still be in the mix, despite his head injury. On top of that, the creative team is reconsidering the involvement of Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.
WWE planning changes for Finn Balor’s WM 40 match
As WrestleMania 40 draws closer, more changes may be on the horizon. Recent reports suggest that there may be alterations to the Undisputed Titles tag team bout next week.
Following their victory against The Street Profits on SmackDown on March 29th, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller earned a place in the Six-Pack Tag Team Ladder Match. However, current sources claim that though Theory and Waller won, they could be removed from the competition for an unexpected reason.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed, “By the way, even though Theory and Waller won. It is not necessarily that they’re going to be in that match. They might be. There is a meeting upcoming where they will make a decision on that.”
