Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama went to war on Tuesday night as the two giants collided at Ball Arena. While the Denver Nuggets stood tall after a swashbuckling game of basketball, the Spurs did not lay out the carpet for the home team.

Being at the bottom of the Western Conference, the Spurs gave such a tough fight to the top-seeded Nuggets that their star Nikola Jokic had to threaten Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama.

Following the nail-biting game, Nikola Jokic was asked in the press conference about his reaction to the rookie blocking his shots. The Serbian sarcastically revealed that he had warned Wemby by saying, “If you block one more shot, I’m gonna…” leaving the rest of the sentence to the audience’s imagination.

With a smile, the NBA champion added, “But he blocked like four after that, so I didn’t do anything about it.”

Victor Wembanyama dropped another masterclass performance, showcasing his exceptional blocking skills that obstructed the scoring beast Jokic. The budding French star with his powerful impact and versatility has earned the respect of big names, in his rookie season.

Nikola Jokic powers Nuggets to victory despite Wemby’s near quadruple-double

Victor Wembanyama set the court on fire with his huge numbers and nearly made another record. However, Nikola Jokic stole the show by successfully snatching the win in the end.

The way the Spurs fought neck-to-neck, it seemed impossible to say that they are at the bottom with a 15-58 record. The 20-year-old sensation recorded 23 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists, and 9 blocks, missing the quadruple-double by hairline.

Jokic’s attacks from the center eventually crumbled the dreams of the Spurs of securing a win. The way Nikola dominated the San Antonio defense speaks volumes of his worth as an MVP contender. With around 30 seconds remaining in the game, a much-needed 3-pointer from Michael Porter Jr. locked the win for the Nuggets.
