Jimmy Butler’s agent takes issue with injury report ahead of Bulls game

The NBA play-in tournament witnessed many action-filled dramas this week. One of them was on Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Center when the Philadelphia 76ers faced the Miami Heat. During the late minutes of the opening quarter, Heat’s forward Jimmy Butler picked up an injury when Sixers’ Kelly Oubre Jr. accidentally fell on his leg.

Despite suffering immense pain, Butler played till the end, but the injury slowed him down. Following the game, many media outlets anticipated that the 6-time All-Star would be ruled out for weeks due to an MCL injury even before the MRI reports came. Recently, the star’s agent claimed on Sirius XM NBA Radio that they weren’t aware of the news that the media houses knew.

Agent Bernie Lee said, “We don’t see the doctor until later this afternoon.” Lee further added, “It blows my mind that somebody that wasn’t in the arena has somehow come up with a medical timeline of something that literally four of us, one is the person that got hurt and me, the person that everything get filtered through … We don’t even know… and now we’re having to live in somebody else’s created reality.”

Wednesday’s game ended in a narrow 104-105 defeat for Miami, so they will get another opportunity to play against the Chicago Bulls on Friday to get back in the post-season picture. Currently, the franchise posted updates on social media about Butler’s injury where he sent a message to Kelly Oubre Jr.

The Miami Heat announced on their official Instagram page that Jimmy Butler will be excluded from the roster on Friday due to his right MCL sprain. Tagging Kelly Oubre Jr. on his comment, Jimmy wrote, “we throwing hands.”

The Jimmy-less Miami squad has to win the game on Friday at their home arena to see their competitive star “Playoff Jimmy” in action this season, given his injury does not rule him out beyond that point.
