Max Verstappen is a two-time world champion and has raced with Red Bull since 2016. Max debuted in Formula 1 with Red Bull sister team Alpha Tauri and Torro Rosso back then. The Dutchman lost pole position to Lewis Hamilton by Just a 12th of a second. He crossed the line on Saturday and got P-2. Max has an amazing start to the race; he overtook Lewis in the first lap itself.
Max went on to win the Hungarian Grand Prix this Sunday, making it his ninth win of the season. During the podium ceremony, his 1st place trophy was broken by his fellow McLaren driver while he celebrated his 2nd place by popping the champagne.

Soon, these questions were answered, as it was revealed that Max Verstappen’s trophy cost a whopping 40 thousand Euros.
These are way more important to the team than the driver, as the driver would only get a replica for his trophy and not the real thing. A driver is supposed to hand over the trophy to the team, as stated in all contracts generally. These trophies are then kept at the team headquarters as a symbol of achievement and to motivate its employees.
Lando Norris accidentally breaks Max Verstappen’s Hungarian GP trophy
After all the cars crossed the finish line, the top three drivers, Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Sergio Perez, lined up at Parc Farme for the celebrations. Little did they know what was going to come.
After the Dutch anthem, both Red Bull boys popped the champagne, leaving the McLaren driver. Lando wanted to pop it a little differently, so he banged the bottle on the 1st position podium while popping it to make it come out as a fountain. But during this, he mistakenly made Max’s trophy toss and fall on the stage, resulting in a couple of pieces of it.
Later, McLaren’s Twitter account apologized for its star driver’s carelessness. This was replied to with some humor by the Red Bull Racing team, saying “We can’t take you anywhere! Glad to have you up there with us though. We’re gonna need some glue.”
It made for a very funny scene on social media for the fans, which was even continued in the interview with F1 media after the race, where Lando was caught saying that it was Max’s fault as he kept a little too close to the edge jokingly.
