Despite shocking defeat in NFL game week 1, Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase labels Browns squad as bunch of “elves”

The Cincinnati Bengals Ja’Marr Chase fueled the entire Cleveland Browns squad by delivering some dismissive comments ahead of their Week 1 match. However, the aftermath of the trash talk cost them heavy.

The Browns blew away potential Super Bowl contenders in their season opener by clinching a phenomenal victory over them. Chase is not habituated to mince words while taking digs at his opponents, and he held up this attitude despite going down to the Cleveland Browns.

Ja’Marr Chase slams Browns’ squad

After the game, Ja’Marr Chase may have some regrets for throwing jabs at his rivals prior to the match, but he is more furious for losing the match against the team whom he called ‘elves’ before the campaign.

“It’s frustrating because I called they a– elves, and we lost to some elves. I’m pissed on my part, I’m pissed on that end. Like I said, we got missed opportunities, we didn’t capitalize on that sh–, and we lost. That’s how we lost.”

On Thursday, the 23-year-old star took his opponents lightly by saying he feels no different while playing against the Browns and labelled the team as ‘elves’.

“It don’t feel no different. It’s just the hooping and hollering about the Cleveland Browns. I was about to call them the elves. I don’t really hear it. If you ask me, I don’t really pay attention to it because Cleveland is Cleveland.”

Cleveland’s veteran Myles Garrett later responded to his comments by marking them as “bulletin board material,” and his team responded to those jabs by showcasing phenomenal athleticism on the way to their incredible victory.
