Cody Rhodes reportedly eyes role in ‘The Naked Gun’ film reboot

The trend of wrestlers venturing into acting is not new, though their level of success has varied. Following the trend, Cody Rhodes is all set to take on a part in a Hollywood remake after winning the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40.

The latest buzz around Cody Rhodes follows his upcoming title defense against AJ Styles, who secured his shot by defeating LA Knight last Friday on SmackDown. The Daily Mail adds fuel to the fire by reporting that the 38-year-old former AEW star is about to launch her acting career.

According to the report, Rhodes has been cast in the remake of the classic comedy “The Naked Gun,” starring alongside Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. Daily Mail reported, “Cody may be having a huge feud with The Rock [Dwayne Johnson] in the WWE ring right now but it looks like the battle will extend to Hollywood as he is going to star in the new Naked Gun film.”

The remake of “The Naked Gun,” starring Cody Rhodes is set to hit theaters on July 18, 2025. Directed and produced by Avika Schaffer, this project has Rhodes thrilled for his big step outside of WWE.

Cody Rhodes’ role in the major remake film

It has already made headlines that Cody Rhodes will act in a new version of “The Naked Gun,” a criminal parody comedy series that Leslie Nielsen popularized in the ’80s and ’90s. In a throwback to the 1988 original, Rhodes may play one of several characters that are entranced.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
