Liv Morgan’s gold quest continues with relentless “runner-up” trend

After a hiatus of months, Liv Morgan returned in January with full energy and fought in some of the most grueling multi-character bouts, such as Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, but ended up as the runner-up in both events. Her trend of close calls continued in the latest 15-woman battle royal, too.

Despite all the injury and marijuana-related setbacks, she bravely headed back into the ring and made a dramatic entrance as the 30th contestant in the Royal Rumble. In the intense showdown, it looked like she was going to win, but fate had other ideas. She ended up coming in the runner-up position.

Her “runner-up” disappointment from the Royal Rumble carried over into the Women’s Elimination Chamber event, where she lost by a razor-thin margin against Becky Lynch in Perth. Interestingly, the scene repeated itself as Becky Lynch ruined Livie’s hopes once more in the 15-woman WWE World Women’s Championship Battle Royal match.

She was visibly frustrated after losing the World Championship championship by the narrowest of margins. Furthermore, a touching video of a clearly upset Liv Morgan quickly went viral online, winning the hearts of fans all over the world.

Heartbroken Liv Morgan’s video went viral

Last week’s RAW saw Liv Morgan force Rhea Ripley to give up her title, so fans were holding their breath this week for her to be named Women’s World Champion. However, despite her best efforts, she was unsuccessful at the vital time.

A heartbreaking scenario played out ringside as Lynch celebrated her victory in the ring and the 29-year-old was looking at the champion as if she were about to cry. Moreover, when a WWE cameraman also made the mistake of approaching Livie backstage, her irate face made it plain that she did not want to be on camera.

At this point, it is unclear when Livie will finish her revenge story. What is your take on Liv Morgan’s runner-up trend this year? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
