CM Punk delivers heartfelt in-ring speech after WWE SmackDown goes off the air

With his sensational comeback at Survivor Series 2023, CM Punk has captured the attention of the WWE Universe. But his momentum was put on hold when Drew McIntyre hurt himself with a future shock DDT during the Royal Rumble. Since he is still nursing, this might be why he didn’t appear on the first night of the WWE draft. The Sin City Saint made things better with a surprise and touching speech in the ring after SmackDown, which made fans extremely satisfied.

Naturally, CM Punk attracts massive numbers inside the organization, and fans are already anxiously awaiting the return of the former World Champion considering his injury hiatus. When he wasn’t on TV at the most recent WWE draft event, despite the announcement, several fans were understandably upset and skeptical about any potential surprises involving him.

However, their worries did not persist for long. Punk swiftly transformed the disappointed fans’ anger into joy with a short in-ring promo after Friday night’s WWE SmackDown concluded.

In the promo, CM Punk said, “Big things going on here in the WWE. The draft was today. The draft continues Monday. I felt compelled to come out here and speak to my friends in Cincinnati. Take a moment to look around at this place. Y’all packed this house. We couldn’t do this without each and every single one of you, so on behalf of everybody backstage, in front of and behind the camera, we humbly thank you very, very much.”

The 45-year-old also offered an update on his injury condition at the promo, which added to the excitement that was already surrounding the possibility of his future face-offs.

CM Punk opens up about his injury status

Fans had wanted to see CM Punk lead big storylines since the Royal Rumble, but injuries have prevented him from performing at major WWE events. The recent WWE draft on SmackDown was significantly affected by his absence, which was once again linked to his ongoing recovery. However, he gave fans an important update on his health and return intentions in the open off-air discussion after SmackDown, hinting at his possible comeback.

While sharing his injury status, he noted as Wrestleview transcribed, “I want to give a little update. My tricep is not 100% yet, but I am on track, and I promise, soon, I will be back, and I will be competing with all of the big, tough badasses backstage.”

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
