The Undertaker speaks highly of AJ Styles, draws comparison to Shawn Michaels

AJ Styles is famous for being The Undertaker’s last opponent in the cinematic Boneyard match at WWE WrestleMania 36, a match that left an indelible mark on the careers of both stars. With this unconventional setting, the Deadman may be able to learn more about the Phenomenal One’s character, which has only served to deepen his admiration for Styles.

The Undertaker recently compared 46-year-old AJ Styles to the renowned Shawn Michaels in an exclusive interview for his Six Feet Under Podcast, demonstrating his admiration for the TNA Original. Shawn Michaels began his career as one half of the Rockers and notably ended it at WrestleMania XXVI against the Undertaker, where he showcased his ultra-spectacle character.

The Hall of Famer not only praised Styles’s great ring skills, which reminded him of Shawn Michaels but also complimented him as a person. As Fightful Select transcribed, the 59-year-old said, “I don’t know if there will ever be another Shawn Michaels. I put a disclaimer on it, but AJ Styles can work with anybody. He can make anybody look like a million bucks and still be able to you know.”

He further emphasized, “AJ is not a big guy, but has the ability to work with anybody and make it believable, make it solid. That doesn’t make AJ Shawn Michaels, but those are the two guys that have the generation’s [highest] work level. ”

Besides, while talking about their cinematic Boneyard Match, the WrestleMania Phenom regretted not getting to meet AJ Styles in a real match. Having said that, Aj Styles also talked about their non-traditional match following the main event of WrestleMania 36.

Aj Styles said, “We were given the perfect way to have a very entertaining match, though I don’t even know if I’d call it a match. But it was different from everything else we were doing. There were no fans in the Performance Center, so everyone that wrestled there had it a little bit harder than myself and Undertaker.”

However, he is set to face the new undisputed WWE Universal Champion in the upcoming Backlash. Are you excited for the match? Share your opinion in the comments.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
