Jaylen Waddle Injury News: Dolphins WR reportedly suffers concussion against Patriots

The Miami Dolphins played the New England Patriots on the road as part of an AFC East matchup, and the Dolphins narrowly prevailed. Jaylen Waddle and the rest of the Dolphins’ offensive players appeared eager to secure their team’s second straight victory of the season.

Despite the Dolphins’ triumph, their WR’s night was unfortunate because he was unable to play until the end of the game because of a major injury he sustained during the contest.

Injury update on Jaylen Waddle

During the fourth quarter of the Miami Dolphin’s Week 2 game against the New England Patriots, linebacker Marte Mapu inflicted a significant and unlawful blow on Jalen Waddle’s head. Despite being on the ground and obviously rattled up, Waddle was able to leave the field on his own.

Due to Mapu’s hit, the receiver was unable to return to help his team on the field. He was thus sidelined for the entire game. Jaylen Waddle was in fine form before being benched, playing to the fullest of his abilities, as he led the Dolphins in receiving yards with four grabs for 86 yards.

A short while later, team authorities declared that the athlete was being examined for a concussion. He could possibly miss the Dolphins’ upcoming game against the Denver Broncos. Mapu was given a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness, but he continued to play.

Dolphins vs. Patriots match overview

Throughout the whole game, the Dolphins were able to apply pressure to the Patriots’ offense. In the opening play, tight end Mike Gesicki received a five-yard pass from Patriots quarterback Mac Jones. Jones made a valiant effort throughout the entire game to recover from their Week-1 loss.

In order to get the Patriots into the end zone for the first time that night, Jones completed three passes for 231 yards and one touchdown while scrambling for an additional 18 yards. However, it seemed to be quite difficult to stop the Dolphins’ offense. Tyreek Hill had three receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown, while Tua Tagovailoa was 15 for 20 for 181 yards with a score.

The Dolphins recorded 237 yards of offense, as opposed to the Patriots’ 116. Raheem Mostert, the Dolphins’ star running back, led the attack against the Patriots’ defense by rushing for 121 yards and two scores.

Raheem also took one cut on an inside run and scorched the Patriots’ whole defense for a 43-yard score to give his team a 24-10 lead with 8:45 left on the clock after starting at the 43-yard line following a 12-yard punt return by Berrios.

The Patriot’s star player Mac Jones threw to Hunter Henry for seven yards before two Stevenson runs picked up 17 yards and moved the ball to the Miami 13-yard line to move the score 24-17. The Patriots’ defense had no answer for the Dolphins’ offense as Miami was knocking on the door of the red zone again while an overturned call decided their fate for the second consecutive week.

However, Jaylen Waddle’s injury was the only loss for the Dolphins on their victory night. Due to the Dolphins’ lack of a definite WR3, Tyreek Hill will now have to fight for the team as Tua Tagovailoa’s helping hand after Waddle’s injury.
