In the wake of the completion of the merger between WWE and UFC’s parent company Endeavor, a series of WWE wrestlers have been released in the past couple of days. One of them was Emma, who was best known for her time in NXT. Following her shocking release, the former WWE superstar has teased joining AEW sometime in the future.
The infamous Black Friday came a day early this week, as WWE released not just a bunch of its talent but also a bunch of WWE’s backstage staff were let go from their contracts, the news of which was overshadowed by The Rock’s return last week.
Emma’s interaction with Saraya FKA Paige sparks AEW speculations
WWE announced yesterday that they would be hosting next year’s Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia. This news caused a great deal of excitement in WWE superstar Emma, who is a fellow Australian herself. She took to X to express her joy, saying that it was ‘a dream’. However, her happiness would soon disappear as she announced a few moments later that she had just been released by the company and confirmed it in a post that she was no longer working with WWE.
Following her release from WWE, Emma had an interaction with former NXT rival and AEW star Saraya(formerly known as Paige), which sparked speculations that the 34 year-old superstar is headed to AEW. In a post on X, Saraya called out her former rival and commented that they should have a feud once again. This led to many believing that the former WWE star may move to WWE’s rival promotion to reignite her feud with Saraya.
In addition to this, Emma’s former tag team partner from Impact Wrestling, Madison Rayne, shared a clip on X of the time when they used to be a team. This was after the 34-year-old superstar was released from WWE. Madison Rayne is currently a part of AEW as well, where she serves as the coach of the Women’s Division. Her tweet, coupled with Saraya’s response, raised the chances that Emma might be headed to AEW soon.
Emma’s fiancé with hilarious response to WWE talent cuts
It has been a rough week for the household of Riddick Moss and Emma, as the couple were among the first targets of WWE’s recent series of releases after the completion of the merger between Endeavor and WWE.
Prior to her release from the Stamford-based promotion, Emma was quite excited for next year’s Elimination Chamber, which is taking place in her homeland of Australia. However, her excitement and joy were vanquished when she announced that she was let go from the company.
Her fiancé, WWE superstar Riddick Moss, was also released from the company. However, Moss tried to remain positive amidst the layoffs. He lightened the mood by sharing a humorous response to WWE’s talent cuts. He replied to a post announcing his release, pretending to be shocked upon hearing the news
WWE has released not only their in-ring performers, but also several of their backstage staff and crew. This was the result of the successful completion of the merger between WWE and Endeavor and TKO Group Holdings. We can only wait and see what the TKO Era means for WWE moving forward.
