Guardiola has turned City’s fortunes around in the Premier League since joining them in 2016. Before arriving in England, several pundits and fans had claimed that the Spaniard had only enjoyed success in lesser-known leagues like La Liga and the German Bundesliga.
Pep’s achievements at City have silenced the doubters, as he not only conquered the Premier League but also completed the treble for City last season, winning all available trophies except for the Carabao Cup, which was claimed by their rivals Manchester United.
By winning the treble last season, he became the only manager in history to have won the continental treble twice. Shockingly, a Spanish football expert has revealed Guardiola’s plans not to stay at Manchester City beyond next season. The same report suggests that Guardiola may be rounding up his career at club level and may take up the England job to replace Gareth Southgate.
“I feel Pep Guardiola has two more years at club level,” Spanish football expert Guillem Balague told Football Daily. “He’s taken football to a place…if he had the energy of 2008, he may take it to the next place, but I think it’s about winning for him in the next two years,” he concluded.

With Guardiola reportedly set to leave club football within the next two years, City has already set their sights on another exciting managerial prospect, Roberto De Zerbi. The Italian replaced Graham Potter at Brighton last season when the latter moved to Chelsea, and the way he has transformed Brighton into a European club with a very young team is impressive.
“I have got the impression that he (De Zerbi) will (replace Guardiola at City). Because he could have gone to Spurs this summer, but he decided not to, he thinks he has to be at Brighton. He’s got great admirers at Manchester City,” Ballague told Football Daily.
