Singapore GP was arguably the most depressing race for the Red Bulls and Max Verstappen this year. They absolutely lacked the pace in the weekend and lost out to the underdogs of this season, Ferrari ultimately won the race with Carlos Sainz and the race didn’t go down well Verstappen.
But, it seems like, the ‘dominating king’ has got his ‘crown’ of sheer race craft back when he demolished the entire field in Free Practice this Japanese GP. He set lap times like he was set out for revenge and wouldn’t settle for anything less than perfection.
Horner reveals Verstappen’s unconventional stress relief
Its a known fact that Formula 1 races are most stressful, but, for Max Verstappen the sudden drop in results had caused a lot of frustration and disappointment. In such cases, it is essential that the championship leader finds some way to get his head in a relaxed state.
Christian Horner recently revealed Max’s unconventional and quirky methods for stress relief ahead of the race. Horner was talking to the press about Verstappen’s methods praising him,
“Max was super clear last weekend,” Horner told media at Suzuka. “He was very, very constructive in the debrief, very constructive all week.
“Taking his frustration out on the paddle tennis courts with his engineers, beating ‘GP’, which didn’t go down well, but he’s been very constructive in his approach.”
Instead, of staying fixated on the defeat Max Verstappen decided to take it out through high intensity sports. A healthy and intelligent way to take care of excessive frustration and stress over the less than opportunistic weekend.
Max Verstappen’s managed to get p5 spot despite qualifying Setback
The Singapore GP was a shocker for the ‘rocket ship’ of Red Bull. Not only was the entire lineup unable to qualify in Q3 during the qualifying sessions. This was not as frightening because, the Red Bulls were expecting a bounce back and podium finish during the actual race.
Thigs didn’t turn out as well in the race as well and their cars lagged behind the other competitors. Verstappen never gave up even in tough conditions regardless, securing a P5 finish overall and showing his mettle. This showed the persistence of the Red Bulls driver who knew that he had to make up for the technical difficulties and he executed it incredibly well.
What do you think about the jump into action this weekend, by reigning champion Max Verstappen as he was able to set a bar high enough for the competitors during the Free practice. Do you think Red Bulls have got their dominance back or will other teams say ‘Arigato’ to fans by showing them an amazing display of Formula 1 racing.
