In the past couple of days, Cody Rhodes has been the topic of a lot of buzz in the wrestling industry as he recently revealed to be the reason for former AEW star Jade Cargill’s switch to WWE. According to the latest news, he is going to be featured in an upcoming Netflix anime series.
The American Nightmare has been extremely successful in his second stint in WWE as he returned to the company last year. He went against some of the top stars of the company, won the 2023 Royal Rumble, headlined WrestleMania, and defeated Brock Lesnar twice.
Cody Rhodes features in new anime trailer
On the social media platform X, The American Nightmare retweeted a trailer of the upcoming Netflix anime series titled Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, which is based of the popular game Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
Fans were surprised to see the WWE superstar featuring in the upcoming anime series. However, his appearance in the trailer was short-lived. In the video clip, Rhodes could be seen running to attack when he suddenly gets his head blown up by a bomb.
Along with retweeting the trailer, Rhodes credited the creator of the series, Adi Shankar for including him in the project. He wrote, “I went boom Thanks @adishankarbrand for thinking of me and sliding me into your world, cheers to the next time!”.
Rhodes receives credit for bringing Jade Cargill to WWE
Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill are two former AEW superstars who switched over to WWE. The two definitely share a special bond, as Cargill recently named her friendship with The American Nightmare to be one of the reasons of her decision to join WWE.
It was being speculated for the past couple of weeks that Jade Cargill might be looking to switch over to WWE once her contract with AEW expires. The Stamford-based promotion confirmed on X that the former AEW star has officially joined the company.
In an interview with The Ringer’s Masked Man Show, Cargill talked about her experience of her first day at WWE’s Performance Center and how she felt about her decision to join WWE. She also talked about her relationship with Cody Rhodes and named him as one of her top three reasons to join the Stamford-based promotion.
“He was top three, and not third. He is a phenomenal man. I’ve seen what the business did for him, I’ve seen him be the stellar athlete that he is. I didn’t see any different for myself. He was one of the guys that led me to a great decision,” said Cargill.
Cargill’s first on-screen meeting with Cody Rhodes was in 2020 in AEW when the two were in a rivalry at the time, with Cargill teaming up with Shaquille O’Neal to take on Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet in a tag team match. Fans would love to see the two of them working together in WWE in the coming months, and maybe even have Brandi Rhodes make a special appearance sometime in the future to reignite her rivalry with Cargill.
