French tennis coach and commentator, Patrick Mouratoglou is one of the most renowned for training great players including Serena Williams and Simona Halep. In an interview with Tennis 365, he commented on the significance of the mental state of Novak Djokovic which became his drawback.

However, after this particular final, he said, “I honestly believe that what tipped the balance in Carlos’ favor was that he felt freer and more relaxed in the decisive moments, this led him to be more aggressive and to play his tennis without problems.”
