Over the last six seasons, Utah Football has routinely been among the top three defenses in the Pac-12 in most significant defensive statistics due to their hard-hitting, fundamentally sound, slobber-knocking style of play. The winning streak of the club is exceeding expectations every day and grabbing the media’s and sports sponsors’ attention in the collegiate football circuit.
Recently, the organization’s effort to create a bunch of great young athletes recently has been honored by the Crimson Collective with a stunning surprise.
85 Utah scholarship players receive Dodge Ram 1500 trucks
The Wednesday came as a major surprise for the Utah football team in Utah’s Rice-Eccles Stadium.
As part of a NIL agreement with the Crimson Collective, the NIL group that supports Utah athletics, the 85 scholarship athletes for the Utah squad were gifted 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn trucks. Each truck costs $61,000 at retail, making it one of the most distinctive image and likeness deals in collegiate athletics.
Along with a number of Crimson Collective contributors, the Ken Garff Automotive Group assisted in closing the deal. To acquire the trucks, the insurance and lease are paid for as long as the student-athlete is on a scholarship, but each athlete is required to choose a community service project within the year to fulfill as a condition.
Although it is not yet known how long the agreement will last, Matt Garff, board chair of the Crimson Collective and a co-owner of the Ken Garff Automotive Group, told Yahoo! Sports that if this mission is successful, they would continue it in the future as well.
“If it works, we’ll keep going. We are ordering vehicles as we need them. The intent is to figure it out and if it works, how to keep it going.”
Garff further disclosed that, if the Crimson Collective’s aims are successful, they will work to fund Utah players’ schooling, housing, and transportation needs through NIL partnerships with neighborhood charities.
