In a recent interview with Madeline Kenney of the Bay Area New Group, Warriors owner Joe Lacob spoke openly about the issue. Without going into great depth, Lacob explained Paul’s place in the squad and the reason for signing him to the team.

Joe Lacob, the Golden State Warriors owner avoided making a firm commitment when asked about Chris Paul’s role in the Warriors team. Chris Paul’s starting role was not made definite by him, leaving the choice up to the coaches, in a recent interview.

“That’s up to the coaches,” “I’m sure they’re talking about it, but who knows? He might start, he might not…The point is to get a lot of talent out there and to see [what happens]. Who starts doesn’t really matter anyway, it’s who finishes the game.” he stated.
Rather than focusing on who starts, Lacob said it was more important to have a strong roster. Given the lack of clarity, it’s possible that the Golden State Warriors may do something completely out of the ordinary and use Paul in a capacity he’s never played before in the NBA, which is as a bench player.
Paul’s addition as a strong reserve player would change the team’s dynamics very much. However, there may be difficulties in adjusting to such a shift. Everyone is eagerly waiting to see how the Warriors adjust to this new roster acquisition as the new season progresses.

CP3’s next chapter begins with his signing with the Golden State Warriors. The veteran point guard joins the team after having title-hope seasons in the past dashed by the Warriors. Paul, who has started every game of his 1,214 career regular season games and 149 career postseason games up to this point.
Chris Paul was acquired for $31 million for the following season and the $30 Million for next year is non-guaranteed.
CP3, who will be 38 years old and playing in his 19th NBA season, is fine with the possible sacrifice of starting because the Warriors are favorites to win the NBA championship.
