Oscar Piastri is performing incredibly well despite being a rookie since his debut. His sensational delivery of performances, with smooth transitions, has earned him the title of being the younger version of Max Verstappen.
It’s not easy to outpace ‘Mad Max’ on the track, but against the odds, Piastri secured a pole position for the Sprint race in Qatar. However, his mother expressed her dissatisfaction in a statement on Twitter
Oscar Piastri’s mother voices disappointment
On Saturday, Oscar secured the pole position ahead of the Sprint Race, as mentioned earlier. The rookie outperformed the three-time World Champion and his former teammate, Lando Norris. His performance in the Qatar Grand Prix was remarkable, making winning seem like a piece of cake despite the presence of the King of F1, Max Verstappen.
Nicole Piastri, Oscar’s mother, is well-known for her expertise in social media. Following his victory at the Losail International Circuit, Nicole jokingly expressed her disappointment on her Twitter account, mentioning that she had to cancel her pilates class to celebrate his win.
She wrote “ Just had to cancel my 7 a.m. Pilates Classes” which clearly showed that she was proud of her son but did not admit so.
Nonetheless, despite her sarcasm, she later posted pictures of two bottles of champagne to celebrate Oscar’s victory in Qatar.
Piastri shows off sprint trophy
Oscar Piastri has achieved huge success in a short period. This caught everyone’s attention as they heaped praises for the driver’s performance, especially for his Japanese as well as the Qatar Grand Prix.
Piastri battled with George Russell throughout the middle half of the race, passing the Mercedes as well as the Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen on the way to his guaranteed victory. Lando Norris took third for McLaren after catching and passing Russell on the final lap.
Many drivers along with Lewis Hamilton were impressed with his maiden win on Losail. He said on the radio “ Ahh amazing…impressive..Oscar and the team.”
Oscar was really happy after his victory, he described the entire race as being very stressful to due to having close competition among the drivers.
The driver, later posted on Twitter, which came as a flex to the audience, which said that his suitcase was going to be heavier now that he had a shiny Trophy, to take back home.
“Suitcase going to weigh a little more on the way home.”
