The Hamas attack on Israel which has left many civilians dead, received wide attention from the entire world. Former NBA player Amare Stoudemire is one person who has reacted to this event and given out his words without compromise. The six-time All-Star was angered after the sudden attack called Operation Al-Aqsa Flood increased the already existing tension to an unimaginable point.
Stoudemire’s words in his recent video post were full of anger and frustration, just like others are probably feeling. Amare Stoudemire’s emotional display while making clear-cut comments has made fans wonder his connection with Israel.
Amare Stoudemire talks about Israel-Palestine conflict
Following the Israel-Palestine conflict, Amare Stoudemire recorded a video of himself addressing the sad news emanating from Israel. In his video, Stoudemire called out some renowned groups who he feels should step into the issue.
Amare said, “I woke up this morning with some disturbing news out of Israel that Hamas [are] kidnapping children, putting them in cages, killing women, killing the elderly. That’s some coward s**t. That’s cowardly.”
Among the renowned groups Stoudemire mentioned in his video is the Black Lives Matter movement. Amare continued by saying, “And for all of you black lives matter (supporters) who ain’t saying nothing, or let me figure out exactly what happened before I say anything, well f**k you.”
Stoudemire’s message in his video was strong as he called out the Hamas Organization for alleged war crimes, he said he heard in the news. He also called out US politicians in his video. He concluded by saying that they don’t respect any of the groups for their lack of concern. Another athlete, NFL LB Alex Anzalone’s parents are also currently tapped in Israel among the ongoing bombings.
Amar’e Stoudemire has played for four teams in the NBA, including the Suns and Knicks, during his 14-season in his NBA career. He earned six All-Star selections and secured the Rookie of the Year award.
Is Amare Stoudemire originally from Israel?
The degree of emotions being displayed by Stoudemire in his video has raised questions if he is originally from Israel. The fact is that Amare Stoudemire played in Israel after leaving the NBA because of a continuous struggle with knee injuries. Amare is an American-Israeli who went ahead to play for Hapoel Jerusalem and Maccabi Tel Aviv. He won the Israeli championship with Maccabi in 2020. He is also reported to own a large stake in Hapoel.
Stoudemire’s mother has Hebrew Israelite heritage, and he was raised a Christian. Stoudemire began 2018 his journey of conversion to Judaism and succeeded in 2020. He then gained residency and citizenship in Israel in 2019 and adopted the Hebrew name Yahoshafat Ben Avraham. Though Amare Stoudemire may have reacted emotionally to the Israeli-Palestine conflict, it remains an issue to concern everyone.
