From the McEnroe brothers to the Williams sisters, to the Bryan Brothers to the Pliskovas, there were plenty of prominent siblings at the forefront of the game. But the new siblings partnership in tennis seems to be the Alcaraz brothers—the Cralos Alcaraz brothers.
Carlos Alcaraz has three brothers but two are prominent; the youngest, Jamie, won the Rafael Nadal Tour trophy in Madrid a few weeks ago, and the second, Alvaro, is known to always train with Alcaraz when preparing to compete in tournaments.

Carlos Alcaraz, who earned a lot of praise after triumphing over Novak Djokvic in this year’s Wimbledon, was spotted practicing with his brother Alvaro Alcaraz Garifia ahead of the former’s Shanghai Masters third-round clash. The duo were spotted exchanging a few rallies from the baseline.
Alvaro is a former tennis player and used to actively participate on the men’s doubles tour. Despite no longer pursuing a competitive tennis career, he remains a steadfast presence beside his younger brother. He frequently accompanies Carlos Alcaraz during his travels and even shared a hotel room at the 2022 US Open. The duo reportedly watched the movie “300” prior to the youngster’s memorable title clash against Casper Ruud, where the Spanish sensation won his maiden Grand Slam title.
“I have my brother here as well. It’s great to have you here, supporting me every day, to make me be a better person every day, learning from you as well, so thank you very much for being with me,” Carlos Alcaraz said after his triumph at the Cincinnati Open.
Crarlos Alcaraz faces Dan Evans at Shanghai Open
Carlos Alcaraz will square off against Dan Evans in the third round of the Shanghai Masters on Monday. Alcaraz leads the head-to-head against Evans 3-0 and defeated the Brit most recently at the 2023 US Open. The Spaniard will once again be the favorite to win in Shanghai.
While the top seed cruised past Gregoire Barrere in the second round, 30th-seed Evans outfoxed Mikhail Kukushkin 6-2, 3-0 when the Kazakh veteran retired through injury according to Sky Sports.
Alacaraz and Evans will be determined to make a deep run at the event and it’ll be interesting to see if Evans can counter Alcaraz’s exceptional all-round game. Fans can expect an exciting battle of contrasting styles on the hardcourts of Shanghai. The winner of the tie will take on Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round.
Dan Evans produced a battling performance but was ultimately outclassed by Carlos Alcaraz in a four-set third-round classic at the US Open, which went the way of the defending champion 6-2 6-3 4-6 6-3.
The pair, who played golf together at Wimbledon, frequently exchanged knowing looks and grins, such was the quality of the cat-and-mouse tennis on show. Evans will hope that he can take his first victory against world No. 2 when they go head-to-head on Monday.
