The New England Patriots as well as Bill Belichick, are off to a poor start, leading them in hot water and grasping negative remarks almost all day. Apart from their on-field play, one month ago they found themselves in the headlines due to a heinous act of Sergio Brown, one of their former player.
Following a month of speculations, Brown was caught by the law enforcement authority for a first-degree murder case. Yet, the former Patriots player chose not to abide by the rules and regulations of authorities.
Who is ex-Patriots safety Sergio Brown?
Sergio Brown did not have an illustrious NFL career after starting his career with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2010. But the Patriots could not trust him much and let him outside of their 53-man roster. At last in October of that year, his luck unfolded and he made his debut for the New England Patriots. He remained as the safety of the team until 2012.
Bill Belichick released him in 2012 and after that, he resurfaced with the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills in the following years. But he was not able to satisfy any team and made a long-tenured career in football. Before hanging up his cleats in 2016, he participated in 94 games over his career.
Recently, the former defensive lineman came into the limelight after Sergio and his mother Myrtle Brown, were reported missing in Maywood, Illinois. Later, his mother was discovered dead in Addison Creek, not far from her Maywood residence on Saturday afternoon.
Sergio Brown fought Mexican officers on a plane after allegedly murdering his mother
Since being missing after his mother’s death, the 35-year-old’s activities were very suspicious, hence the law enforcement authorities kept their eagle eyes on all of his activities.
Sergio Brown was reportedly caught on camera partying in Mexico as recently as last week, according to reports. As he tried to re-enter the United States into California from Mexico, he was caught red-handed and was accused of a first-degree murder case for his mother’s death.
On Sunday in Mexico City, he was seen clashing with Mexican law enforcement aboard an aircraft as they attempted to extradite him back to the United States to stand trial for the murder of his mother.
In a video, shot by Michelle Williams, a resident of Lakeside Calif., the former NFL star player was spotted pushing one of the officers and shouting saying they were trying to kidnap him.
“They’re kidnapping me again … I’m from Chicago. I should not be going to Tijuana. Let me go. This is kidnapping.”
Brown had previously made this claim. He appeared on social media prior to attempting to reenter, stating that the news of his mother’s passing was bogus and that the FBI had twice attempted to kidnap him but that he had managed to escape.
Brown’s behavior points to his involvement in the incident, however small or significant. The case is progressively developing, and a court hearing is set for November 13. Keep up to date until then.
