AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez discloses solution to stop Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe is simply unstoppable, having scored yet another brace against the Netherlands. The win also booked France a place in the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 tournament in Germany. The goals came at a time when many were wondering whether Mbappe was slowing down.

But the truth is far from it, with the 24-year-old already establishing himself as one of the world’s most dangerous forwards. Opponent defenses are often scared of facing him, and managers are perplexed as to how to stop him. However, his own teammate has a solution to this problem with a hilarious suggestion.

Hernandez discloses Mbappe remedy

That teammate is left-back Theo Hernandez, who also featured in the 2-1 win against the Netherlands. The AC Milan player was interviewed by Téléfoot, where he was asked about many topics, including his captain, Kylian Mbappe.

He said he was glad to play with Kylian on the French team: “Playing next to Kylian is incredible, and I hope it continues for years to come.” The pair even shared the pitch during the 2022 World Cup.

He was then asked if Mbappe could be stopped in any way. The French defender had a hilarious and witty suggestion, saying, “How to stop Kylian Mbappé? Well …. make a foul! Make a foul when you can. (laughs).”

He even said that he gave the same advice to AC Milan teammate Davide Calabria, “I am mainly glad he plays on the other side! I have given Calabria various pieces of advice, but the best one is just to foul him. Kick him while you still can.”

AC Milan are drawn in the ‘Group of Death’ in the UCL group stage along with Mbappe’s Paris Saint Germain. The two are yet to clash, with the first match at PSG taking place on October 26. Theo will be hoping his teammates heed his advice if they hope to stop Mbappe and win the match .

Kylian Mbappe overtakes Michel Platini

Kylian Mbappe has already started breaking records at the age of just 24. He reached another significant milestone when he scored two goals in the match against Netherlands.

These two goals happened to be his 41st and 42nd goals for the Les Bleus respectively, which means he now has more goals than the legendary Michel Platini who had scored 41 goals in his career. This means he is now the fourth highest top scorer in the history of the French national team.

Only three players have more goals than him with Antoine Griezmann at third with 44 goals, the legendary Thierry Henry with 51 goals, and Olivier Giroud who recently became the highest goalscorer for France ever with 54 goals.

Considering his age and ability, it can be expected that in the next few years, Mbappe will easily become France’s best scoring player as well, as only 12 goals separate him from the top. And Mbappe will have another chance to add to his goal tally when France face Scotland tomorrow for a friendly match.
