Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma took the Premier League by storm last season. Kaoru Mitoma renews Brighton contract
Kaoru Mitoma renewed his contract with a significant pay rise, which is meant to make any team interested in him spend heavily on him. The new deal will run until 2027, keeping him at the club for four more years. He is also now one of the club’s top earners, owing to his recent success.
Many clubs, such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Barcelona, among others, were monitoring the player. Even though his market value is around £30 million, he could leave for a fee of around £60 million to £100 million. This means the deal is hugely beneficial for Brighton, as they can either get a big fee for him or see him play outstandingly for them for the next few years.
The club’s technical director, David Weir, said regarding the extension, “Ensuring that a player of Kaoru’s quality will remain with us for the long term is fantastic news.”

Kaoru Mitoma doubles his Porsche count with latest achievement
Mitoma has also won something else other than a contract extension. The Japanese international won the Player of the Month award for the club for the second time this season. As is customary, the winner is given a Porsche car for his efforts. Mitoma is now the proud owner of two expensive and luxurious Porsche cars.
This season, Mitoma has already gotten off to a good start. In just 12 games, he already has 3 goals and 4 assists and has massively helped them this season.
The 26-year-old first arrived in 2021 from Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale. He was immediately loaned to Belgian side Royal Union Saint-Gilloise, where he had eight goals and four assists.
Last season, he returned to Brighton for his first season and had a great impact. He had 10 goals and 8 assists in their brilliant season, helping them qualify for the Europa League for the first time. Already, he is the highest-scoring Japanese player in the Premier League with seven goals.
