Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are regarded as two of the best soccer players ever to grace the beautiful game. The pair, consisting of Ronaldo and Messi, changed the meaning of rivalry when they consistently went against each other in La Liga, creating a healthy competition that pushed both players to their best. As two of the greatest players in the game, some players have been lucky enough to share the pitch with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, whether in club football or internationally, and Miralem Pjanic is one of them.
Pjanić had the opportunity to play with Cristiano Ronaldo when the latter made a shocking move from Real Madrid to Juventus in 2018. Ronaldo went on to score over 100 goals for Juventus while also helping the team win two consecutive Serie A titles for the Old Lady.
Speaking about his experience playing alongside Ronaldo and Messi, Pjanić revealed that he had more fun with the Portuguese star than with World Cup winner Lionel Messi.
“I was lucky enough to play with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and it’s hard to say who is stronger. However, I had more fun with Ronaldo than Messi,” Pjanic revealed.

Miralem Pjanic spent two seasons playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus before moving to Barcelona in a swap deal that involved Artur Melo. He continues to cherish the time they spent together with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“I talk a lot with Cristiano Ronaldo. I have many memories with him; he is a great footballer. He’s the best I’ve ever played with. He is among the two, three strongest players in history,” Pjanic said.
Pjanic’s move to Barcelona was largely unsuccessful, as he was loaned to Besiktas just one season into his four-year deal with the club. Last year, the midfielder was transferred to Sharjah FC in the UAE, where he currently plays.
Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, remains the top goalscorer in 2023 as he continues to shine for club and country. He’s reportedly enjoying his time in the Middle East, which has caused him to be linked with a contract renewal with Al-Nassr till 2027.
